The table below outlines the times when our surgery buildings are open to patients. Reception staff are available at the desk through the day, although please be aware that the waiting area at Tramways is closed over the lunchtime period. Please ring for attention at the service hatch located in the entrance. .

Telephone Line Opening Hours


General Line: 8:15am - 12:00pm and 14:30pm - 18:00pm

Prescription Line: 14:00pm - 16:00pm (Further information on ordering repeat prescriptions can be found here)

The Practice telephone lines are manned by our Reception team at Tramways Medical Centre. Please be patient during busy periods where other calls may take longer to deal with.

When lines are closed, phone lines will be answered by either the Sheffield GP Collabrative or the Sheffield Out-of-hours Service.

Protected Learning Initiative (PLI) Afternoon Closures


Approximately once per month the CCG provides cover for most GPs in Sheffield to attend important update events. This may mean that on these afternoons the Practice phone lines are diverted to the out-of-hours provider and some sites may be closed. Please be aware if you wish to contact the Practice on one of these afternoons.

Middlewood Primary Healthcare Centre


The Fairlawns building is also host to several other services that patients from the S35 and S6 areas may be referred to. Their Reception desk is located on the right-hand side of the main entrance area.

Please note that these services are not associated with, and run independently of, Dr Hakes & Partners. The Practice is not involved their operation and it is unlikely our Reception team will be able to deal with any queries regarding their processes.
