About The Practice
Dr Hakes & Partners is a GP partnership based in the Hillsborough area of Sheffield. Our service runs as an NHS body contracted to delivery primary health care services.
The Practice lead by a team of GP partners who are responsible for the Practice. They are supported by a large team consisting of:
- Salaried GPs
- Practice Nurses
- Health Care Assistants
- Reception Team
- Administration Team
- Management Teams
The Practice runs from Tramways Medical Centre and Middlewood Medical Centre. Patients should be prepared to attend both sites.
Most clinical staff work between both sites. Their availability at either will depend on their rota and regular working hours.

Tramways Medical Centre (54A Holme Lane, S6 4JQ)
Tramways Medical Centre is based in the centre of Hillsborough on the site of the old tram shed. Dr Hakes & Partners occupy the left-hand side of the building. The site is also shared with Dr Thake & Partners and Holme Lane (Wells) Pharmacy.

Middlewood Medical Centre (621 Middlewood Road, S6 1TT)
Middlewood Medical Centre is based at the Fairlawns building on Middlewood Road. It was built on the site of the old Middlewood Hospital. The practice is based on the left-hand side of the building. Fairlawns also hosts many other independent services such as:
- District nursing service
- Leg ulcer clinic
- PCS West Locality Extended Access Hubs
- Middlewood (Wells) Pharmacy
